Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Locum Consultant in Respiratory Medicine to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality respiratory care, managing a diverse caseload of patients with complex respiratory conditions. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with the flexibility of a locum position, perfect for consultants looking to expand their experience in a leading healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert clinical care in Respiratory Medicine, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients with a wide range of respiratory conditions.
  • Lead and participate in ward rounds, outpatient clinics, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including non-invasive ventilation, bronchoscopy, and other specialized procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, including nurses, physiotherapists, and other medical professionals.
  • Contribute to the training and supervision of junior doctors, registrars, and medical students.
  • Participate in the on-call rota, providing emergency respiratory care when needed.
  • Engage in clinical governance, audits, research, and quality improvement activities to enhance service delivery.
  • Provide leadership in respiratory service development and promote best practices.

Essential Requirements:

  • Full GMC registration with a license to practice in the UK.
  • CCT in Respiratory Medicine (or equivalent) and inclusion on the Specialist Register.
  • Proven experience working as a Consultant in Respiratory Medicine.
  • Strong clinical skills in managing complex respiratory cases, including acute and chronic conditions.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining high clinical standards and evidence-based practice.
