Description
As a Locum Band 5/6 Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality occupational therapy services to patients, primarily focusing on acute inpatients. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' occupational therapy needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to promote independence and improve quality of life.
- Provide therapeutic interventions to support patients' recovery and rehabilitation.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
- Facilitate patient flow and discharge planning to aid with the reduced length of stay.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions.
- Educate patients and their families about therapeutic techniques and self-management strategies.
Requirements:
- Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration.
- Experience working in the NHS, particularly with acute inpatients.
- Knowledge of patient flow and discharge planning processes.
- Experience in Orthopaedic Inpatients Trauma and Elective wards is a bonus, though support will be provided.
- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and education.
- Flexibility to work variable shifts, including weekends if available.
