As a Band 5 Locum Respiratory Physiologist, you will provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients with respiratory and sleep-related conditions. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care, ensuring accurate test results and effective treatments.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostic respiratory tests, including spirometry, lung volume measurements, gas transfer testing, and reversibility studies.
• Assist with sleep studies, including the setup and downloading of data for analysis.
• Support bronchodilator studies and provide patient education on inhaler techniques and therapy compliance.
• Perform accurate and efficient reporting of diagnostic test results in line with clinical guidelines.
• Ensure all equipment is maintained, calibrated, and used according to protocols.
• Adhere to infection control and safety protocols in all procedures.
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, supporting colleagues and contributing to the overall efficiency of the department.

Essential Requirements

• BSc (Hons) in Clinical Physiology (Respiratory) or equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience in performing diagnostic respiratory tests.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain procedures to patients clearly.
• Knowledge of clinical guidelines and protocols, including ARTP standards.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
