Description

As a Band 6 Paediatric SALT, you will provide high-quality assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for children with a variety of speech, language, and communication difficulties. You will work closely with families, schools, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver tailored care that promotes children’s communication and development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and communication assessments for paediatric patients.
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on clinical findings and best practices.
  • Provide direct intervention in clinic, school, and community settings to support children with speech and language disorders.
  • Collaborate with families, teachers, and other professionals to ensure holistic and integrated care.
  • Deliver parent/carer education and training sessions to support therapy goals at home and in educational environments.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed clinical records in line with professional and organizational standards.
  • Participate in case discussions, team meetings, and service improvement initiatives.
  • Support junior team members, providing clinical supervision where necessary.
  • Adhere to safeguarding protocols and professional guidelines.

Essential Requirements

  • Degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
  • HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist.
  • Experience working with paediatric patients with a range of speech, language, and communication needs.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of current best practices and evidence-based approaches in paediatric speech and language therapy.
