As a Locum Gynaecology Outpatient HCA, you will play an essential role in supporting patients during consultations, procedures, and treatments in an outpatient setting. You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

• Support patients during gynaecology consultations, investigations, and minor procedures.
• Prepare clinic rooms and ensure all necessary equipment is available and maintained.
• Assist clinicians and nursing staff with patient care, including chaperoning during examinations.
• Provide reassurance and emotional support to patients during procedures.
• Accurately record patient observations, such as blood pressure, pulse, and other vital signs.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and dignity at all times.
• Adhere to infection control, health and safety, and safeguarding protocols.
• Assist with administrative tasks, such as updating patient records and preparing clinic schedules.
• Promote a welcoming and professional environment in the outpatient department.

Essential Requirements

• Experience working as a Healthcare Assistant, preferably in a gynaecology or women’s health setting.
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to patient care.
• Ability to work effectively in a busy outpatient environment as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficiency in maintaining accurate and timely documentation.
