Description
As a Locum Band 5 RMN, you will provide high standards of care to patients with a range of mental health conditions. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care plans, ensuring the safety and well-being of all patients under your care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with various mental health conditions in inpatient or community settings.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' mental health, physical health, and social care needs.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, their families, and the multidisciplinary team.
- Administer medication safely and in accordance with local and national guidelines.
- Monitor patients’ progress and response to treatment, making necessary adjustments to care plans.
- Support patients in managing their mental health conditions, promoting recovery and independence.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, including doctors, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with professional standards and data protection regulations.
- Promote a safe and therapeutic environment, managing risk and safeguarding vulnerable individuals.
- Provide emotional support, guidance, and education to patients and their families.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) qualification with a current NMC registration.
- Previous experience working within mental health services, ideally within an inpatient or community setting.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and clinical skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong clinical reasoning, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage challenging situations calmly and professionally.
