Description

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Locum Band 6 Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive mental health assessments, interventions, and support to individuals experiencing a range of mental health challenges. This role requires a highly skilled professional with expertise in mental health care, crisis intervention, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed mental health assessments, formulating and implementing care plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including CBT, psychoeducation, and other appropriate therapies.
  • Work closely with patients, families, and carers to support recovery and promote mental well-being.
  • Manage complex cases, offering crisis intervention and risk assessment to ensure patient safety.
  • Liaise with other healthcare professionals, social services, and community agencies to coordinate care and resources.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records, adhering to professional and legal standards.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and service development initiatives.
  • Offer guidance and supervision to junior staff and students, fostering a supportive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or equivalent qualification in mental health.
  • HCPC or NMC registration.
  • Significant experience at Band 6 level or equivalent, with a strong background in mental health.
  • In-depth knowledge of mental health conditions, therapeutic approaches, and crisis intervention techniques.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team, managing a varied caseload.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and ethical practice.
