Description
As a Locum Band 7 Therapeutic Radiographer, you will play a pivotal role in our radiation therapy team, delivering advanced therapeutic radiography services to oncology patients. Your responsibilities will include planning and delivering radiation treatments, ensuring precision and safety in treatment delivery, and providing compassionate care and support to patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with oncologists and other healthcare professionals to develop and review treatment plans based on patient assessments and clinical guidelines.
- Operating and calibrating radiation therapy equipment to deliver accurate radiation doses to targeted areas while minimizing exposure to healthy tissues.
- Monitoring patient response to treatment and adjusting treatment parameters as necessary.
- Providing patient education and support regarding treatment procedures, potential side effects, and self-care during treatment.
- Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation of treatment sessions.
Requirements:
- Degree in Therapeutic Radiography or equivalent qualification.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or equivalent.
- Extensive experience as a Therapeutic Radiographer, including proficiency in treatment planning and delivery.
- Knowledge of advanced radiation therapy techniques and technologies.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and manage complex patient cases.
