Description
As a Locum ADHD Nurse, you will provide specialist care to children, adolescents, and/or adults diagnosed with ADHD. This includes conducting assessments, supporting medication titration, and delivering patient-focused interventions. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to promote effective management and positive outcomes for individuals and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive ADHD assessments, including gathering clinical history and utilizing evidence-based tools.
- Support medication titration and ongoing management, monitoring patient responses and potential side effects.
- Provide advice and education to patients, families, and carers on ADHD management strategies and treatment plans.
- Deliver structured psychoeducation and behavioral interventions tailored to patient needs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure holistic care.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records in line with professional and organizational standards.
- Support the development and implementation of ADHD care pathways and protocols.
- Act as a point of contact for patients, families, and other professionals involved in care.
- Stay up to date with current ADHD research and best practices to ensure high-quality care delivery.
Essential Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN/RMN/RNLD) with valid NMC registration.
- Proven experience working with individuals with ADHD or other neurodevelopmental conditions.
- Strong understanding of ADHD management, including medication and non-pharmacological interventions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach.
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a caseload effectively.
- Proficiency in maintaining accurate clinical documentation.
