Description

As a Locum ADHD Nurse, you will provide specialist care to children, adolescents, and/or adults diagnosed with ADHD. This includes conducting assessments, supporting medication titration, and delivering patient-focused interventions. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to promote effective management and positive outcomes for individuals and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive ADHD assessments, including gathering clinical history and utilizing evidence-based tools.
  • Support medication titration and ongoing management, monitoring patient responses and potential side effects.
  • Provide advice and education to patients, families, and carers on ADHD management strategies and treatment plans.
  • Deliver structured psychoeducation and behavioral interventions tailored to patient needs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure holistic care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records in line with professional and organizational standards.
  • Support the development and implementation of ADHD care pathways and protocols.
  • Act as a point of contact for patients, families, and other professionals involved in care.
  • Stay up to date with current ADHD research and best practices to ensure high-quality care delivery.

Essential Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN/RMN/RNLD) with valid NMC registration.
  • Proven experience working with individuals with ADHD or other neurodevelopmental conditions.
  • Strong understanding of ADHD management, including medication and non-pharmacological interventions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach.
  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a caseload effectively.
  • Proficiency in maintaining accurate clinical documentation.
