Description
As a Locum RMN/MHP, you will play a key role in assessing, planning, delivering, and evaluating mental health care for patients. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, ensuring a holistic and person-centered approach to mental health treatment and recovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, and implement care plans for individuals with a range of mental health needs.
- Provide direct mental health support and interventions in inpatient, community, or crisis settings.
- Work collaboratively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to deliver effective and compassionate care.
- Administer medications and monitor their effects, ensuring adherence to best practice guidelines.
- Respond to mental health crises with sensitivity and professionalism, using de-escalation techniques when needed.
- Maintain accurate and detailed clinical records in accordance with professional and organizational standards.
- Promote a recovery-focused approach, empowering patients to achieve their goals and maintain their mental well-being.
- Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and service improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and procedures, including safeguarding protocols.
Essential Requirements
- NMC registration as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or equivalent qualification for MHP roles.
- Previous experience working within mental health services, such as inpatient units, crisis teams, or community settings.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and non-judgmental approach.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations and make sound clinical decisions.
- Knowledge of mental health legislation, including the Mental Health Act and safeguarding protocols.
- Flexibility to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in maintaining accurate and timely clinical records.
