Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locum Band 7 Imaging Sonographer. This role is ideal for a dedicated professional who excels in performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations and is committed to providing the highest quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a wide range of ultrasound examinations including abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, vascular, and small parts.
  • Analyze and interpret ultrasound images, providing accurate diagnostic reports to referring clinicians.
  • Ensure high standards of patient care, maintaining a professional and empathetic approach at all times.
  • Use advanced ultrasound technology and equipment proficiently, ensuring optimal image quality and accuracy.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate patient records in accordance with NHS guidelines.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including radiologists, doctors, and other healthcare professionals, to provide comprehensive diagnostic services.
  • Participate in quality assurance programs and contribute to the continuous improvement of imaging services.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior sonographers and radiography staff.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in ultrasound technology and practices through continuous professional development.

Essential Criteria:

  • HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Medical Ultrasound.
  • Extensive experience in performing a wide range of diagnostic ultrasound examinations.
  • Strong clinical skills in image acquisition, analysis, and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development.
  • Experience in working within an NHS or similar healthcare setting.
