Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Locum Consultant Community Paediatrician. This role is ideal for a highly skilled paediatrician looking to make a significant impact on the health and well-being of children in the community. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive paediatric care, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments and diagnoses of paediatric patients in the community setting.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to the needs of each child and their family.
  • Provide expert advice and management for a wide range of paediatric conditions.
  • Liaise with other healthcare professionals, including GPs, nurses, and allied health professionals, to coordinate care and ensure continuity.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences.
  • Deliver health promotion and disease prevention activities.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in accordance with NHS guidelines.
  • Engage in clinical audits, research, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  • Supervise and mentor junior doctors, trainees, and other healthcare staff.
  • Participate in the on-call rota as required.

Essential Criteria:

  • Full GMC registration with a license to practice.
  • CCT in Paediatrics or equivalent (or within 6 months of obtaining CCT).
  • Extensive experience in community paediatrics.
  • Strong clinical skills in the assessment and management of paediatric patients.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.
