Description

As a Locum Band 6 Paediatric Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for providing clinical occupational therapy assessment and intervention for children and young people aged between 0-19. You will work in a mix of clinic and community settings, addressing a variety of conditions, including functional skills assessments, ABC assessments, and working with children and young people with neurodevelopmental conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and young people's occupational therapy needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions to support the development of functional skills and independence.
  • Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to therapy.
  • Travel within the South Cheshire locality to deliver therapy in community settings.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
  • Provide guidance and support to families and caregivers on therapeutic techniques and strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with clinical guidelines, protocols, and safety standards.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration.
  • Experience in paediatric occupational therapy, ideally with children and young people.
  • Knowledge and experience of the Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) process is desirable.
  • Strong clinical and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driving license and willingness to travel within the South Cheshire locality.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and education.
