Description
As a Locum Band 6 Paediatric Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for providing clinical occupational therapy assessment and intervention for children and young people aged between 0-19. You will work in a mix of clinic and community settings, addressing a variety of conditions, including functional skills assessments, ABC assessments, and working with children and young people with neurodevelopmental conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and young people's occupational therapy needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Provide therapeutic interventions to support the development of functional skills and independence.
- Work collaboratively with parents, carers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to therapy.
- Travel within the South Cheshire locality to deliver therapy in community settings.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Provide guidance and support to families and caregivers on therapeutic techniques and strategies.
- Ensure compliance with clinical guidelines, protocols, and safety standards.
Requirements:
- Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration.
- Experience in paediatric occupational therapy, ideally with children and young people.
- Knowledge and experience of the Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) process is desirable.
- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driving license and willingness to travel within the South Cheshire locality.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and education.
