Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Locum Senior Mental Health Practitioner (Nurse) to join our team on a temporary basis. This role is an excellent opportunity for a skilled nurse to provide expert mental health support and leadership in a multidisciplinary team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to individuals with complex mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist mental health assessments, care planning, and interventions for individuals with a variety of mental health conditions
  • Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, ensuring a person-centered approach and a focus on recovery and well-being
  • Act as a lead nurse within the team, providing clinical leadership, supervision, and mentorship to junior staff and students
  • Work closely with other healthcare professionals in a multidisciplinary team, contributing to care reviews and developing holistic treatment plans
  • Ensure the safe and effective management of clinical risk, maintaining high standards of patient care and safety
  • Offer advice and support to patients and their families or caregivers, helping them navigate mental health challenges and access appropriate services
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring compliance with clinical governance and regulatory standards
  • Participate in service development initiatives, promoting continuous improvement and best practices within the mental health service
  • Administer medications, monitor treatment plans, and ensure patients receive appropriate medication management and support
  • Liaise with external agencies, including community services, social workers, and housing providers, to coordinate comprehensive care

Requirements:

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with a valid NMC registration
  • Significant post-qualification experience in mental health nursing, with experience in working with individuals with complex mental health needs
  • Proven ability to undertake comprehensive mental health assessments and develop personalized care plans
  • Experience in clinical leadership, with a strong ability to mentor and supervise junior staff
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build therapeutic relationships with patients and work collaboratively with colleagues
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a varied caseload effectively
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up to date with best practices in mental health care
