We are currently seeking an experienced Locum Senior Mental Health Practitioner (Nurse) to join our team on a temporary basis. This role is an excellent opportunity for a skilled nurse to provide expert mental health support and leadership in a multidisciplinary team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to individuals with complex mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide specialist mental health assessments, care planning, and interventions for individuals with a variety of mental health conditions
Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, ensuring a person-centered approach and a focus on recovery and well-being
Act as a lead nurse within the team, providing clinical leadership, supervision, and mentorship to junior staff and students
Work closely with other healthcare professionals in a multidisciplinary team, contributing to care reviews and developing holistic treatment plans
Ensure the safe and effective management of clinical risk, maintaining high standards of patient care and safety
Offer advice and support to patients and their families or caregivers, helping them navigate mental health challenges and access appropriate services
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring compliance with clinical governance and regulatory standards
Participate in service development initiatives, promoting continuous improvement and best practices within the mental health service
Administer medications, monitor treatment plans, and ensure patients receive appropriate medication management and support
Liaise with external agencies, including community services, social workers, and housing providers, to coordinate comprehensive care

Requirements:

Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with a valid NMC registration
Significant post-qualification experience in mental health nursing, with experience in working with individuals with complex mental health needs
Proven ability to undertake comprehensive mental health assessments and develop personalized care plans
Experience in clinical leadership, with a strong ability to mentor and supervise junior staff
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build therapeutic relationships with patients and work collaboratively with colleagues
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a varied caseload effectively
Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up to date with best practices in mental health care
