Description
We are currently seeking a Locum Specialist ADHD Nurse. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work with patients managing Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), ensuring they receive the highest standard of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations of individuals with ADHD, developing individualized care plans and treatment strategies
- Provide specialist advice and support to patients and their families, helping them understand ADHD and its impact on daily life
- Administer and monitor medications in accordance with treatment plans, adjusting as needed in consultation with the clinical team
- Work closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care
- Offer support and education on coping strategies, behavior management techniques, and lifestyle adjustments for patients and caregivers
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, ensuring all notes are completed in line with organizational policies
- Actively participate in case discussions and contribute to ongoing treatment planning and reviews
- Provide leadership and guidance to junior nursing staff and support workers, ensuring adherence to best practices and protocols
- Ensure compliance with relevant legal, ethical, and clinical guidelines, including safeguarding policies
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse (RGN, RMN, or RNLD) with valid NMC registration
- Significant experience in working with patients diagnosed with ADHD, preferably at a specialist level
- Proven ability to manage and monitor ADHD medication, including titration and review
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients, families, and colleagues
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a caseload effectively
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and keeping up-to-date with best practices in ADHD care
