Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Locum Band 6 Community Specialist Podiatrist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist podiatric care to patients within the community, focusing on the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of foot and lower limb conditions. This role involves working with a diverse caseload, including patients with diabetes, vascular disease, and other complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' foot and lower limb health.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including wound care, nail surgery, and biomechanical assessments.
  • Provide specialist care for patients with chronic conditions such as diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, and peripheral vascular disease.
  • Educate patients and their families about foot care, self-management, and preventive measures.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure holistic care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, adhering to professional and legal standards.
  • Participate in clinical audits, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff and podiatry students.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Podiatry and HCPC registration.
  • Proven experience as a Band 6 Podiatrist, with expertise in community and specialist podiatry.
  • Strong clinical skills in diagnosing and treating a range of foot and lower limb conditions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and patient-centered care.
  • Flexibility to work across different community settings.
