Description

We are seeking a Locum Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic and supportive team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a rewarding environment, helping patients regain independence and enhance their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality occupational therapy assessments, interventions, and treatment plans to patients with a wide range of conditions, including physical, mental health, and neurological issues
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to create and implement individualized care plans aimed at maximizing patients' functional abilities and independence
  • Conduct patient assessments to evaluate physical, cognitive, and psychosocial needs, ensuring treatment is aligned with individual goals
  • Facilitate safe and effective discharge planning, including making recommendations for equipment, adaptations, and ongoing care
  • Promote patient independence through therapeutic interventions, education, and rehabilitation programs
  • Manage a caseload independently, prioritizing and organizing your workload to meet the needs of the service
  • Provide supervision, guidance, and support to junior staff, assistants, and students as required
  • Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping, maintaining up-to-date patient notes and progress reports
  • Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives
  • Comply with health and safety policies, risk assessments, and departmental protocols

Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
  • HCPC registration
  • Previous experience working as a Band 6 Occupational Therapist or in a similar role
  • Strong assessment, planning, and clinical reasoning skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage a varied caseload in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of current best practices and legislation related to occupational therapy
