Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Locum Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide specialist assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for a diverse caseload of patients with speech, language, and communication needs. This role offers the opportunity to work in various settings, including hospitals, clinics, and community health centres, providing valuable support to individuals of all ages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' speech, language, and communication abilities.
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans to address specific needs and goals.
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including doctors, nurses, psychologists, and occupational therapists.
  • Provide education and support to patients, families, and caregivers about communication strategies and techniques.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in accordance with professional and legal standards.
  • Participate in clinical audits, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Offer guidance and support to junior therapists and students.
  • Attend team meetings and case conferences to discuss patient progress and coordinate care.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
  • HCPC registration and RCSLT membership.
  • Proven experience as a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist or equivalent.
  • Strong clinical skills in assessing and treating a range of speech, language, and communication disorders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
  • Flexibility to work in various locations and adapt to different patient needs.
