Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Locum Band 8a Clinical Psychologist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide specialized psychological assessments and interventions to individuals with complex mental health needs. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and multidisciplinary environment, contributing to the psychological well-being of patients across various settings, including hospitals, community clinics, and specialized care centres.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed psychological assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide evidence-based psychological therapies, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and other appropriate interventions.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, and occupational therapists.
  • Offer supervision and consultation to junior psychologists and other healthcare professionals.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of psychological services and programs.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, ensuring compliance with professional and legal standards.
  • Participate in clinical audits, research, and service evaluations to improve patient care.
  • Attend case conferences, team meetings, and training sessions as required.

Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy or equivalent).
  • HCPC registration as a Clinical Psychologist.
  • Proven experience at Band 8a level or equivalent, with expertise in a range of psychological therapies.
  • Strong understanding of complex mental health conditions and treatment modalities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a diverse caseload.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and ethical practice.
