Description

As a Locum Band 6 Pharmacist, you will be responsible for delivering clinical pharmacy services across various wards and departments. You will work closely with healthcare professionals to support medication safety, optimize patient treatment, and provide expert pharmaceutical advice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical pharmacy services, including medication reviews and prescription verification.
  • Advise healthcare professionals on the safe, effective, and economical use of medicines.
  • Support patient care by identifying and managing medication-related issues.
  • Counsel patients on their medications, ensuring they understand their treatment and how to use their medications safely.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including doctors, nurses, and other pharmacists.
  • Assist with the preparation and dispensing of prescriptions in the dispensary as required.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of local guidelines and protocols.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • MPharm degree or equivalent and current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Experience working in a hospital or clinical setting, ideally at Band 6 level or equivalent.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and the ability to manage a varied caseload.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team.
  • A proactive approach with good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with electronic prescribing systems is advantageous.
