As a Locum Band 7 Vascular Scientist / Sonographer, you will specialize in vascular ultrasound, providing diagnostic services to support the management of patients with vascular conditions. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate diagnoses and contributing to exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality vascular ultrasound scans, including duplex imaging, to assess conditions such as deep vein thrombosis, carotid artery disease, and peripheral arterial disease.
• Provide detailed diagnostic reports and collaborate with referring clinicians to inform treatment plans.
• Ensure the safe operation of ultrasound equipment and adherence to clinical guidelines.
• Educate patients about procedures, addressing any concerns and ensuring a comfortable experience.
• Maintain accurate records of diagnostic imaging and patient interactions, following data protection regulations.
• Participate in quality assurance and service improvement initiatives to uphold clinical standards.

Essential Requirements

• Qualifications:
  • Relevant degree or postgraduate qualification in Vascular Science or Medical Ultrasound.
  • HCPC or equivalent professional registration is highly desirable.
• Experience:
  • Proven experience in vascular ultrasound and working as a Band 7 Sonographer or equivalent.
  • Competence in a wide range of vascular studies, including carotid, venous, and arterial assessments.
