As a Locum Endoscopy Outpatient HCA, you will provide essential support to the clinical team and patients undergoing endoscopy procedures. Your role will involve preparing patients, assisting during procedures, and ensuring a smooth and comfortable experience for all patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for endoscopy procedures by explaining the process, providing reassurance, and answering questions.
• Assist the clinical team during endoscopy procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment is available and operational.
• Support patients post-procedure, including monitoring vital signs and offering recovery guidance.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized clinical environment in compliance with infection control protocols.
• Act as a chaperone during procedures when required.
• Assist with the decontamination and maintenance of endoscopy equipment.
• Record accurate and detailed patient observations, such as blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen saturation levels.
• Promote patient dignity, comfort, and confidentiality at all times.
• Perform administrative tasks, including updating patient records and supporting clinic schedules.

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience as a Healthcare Assistant, preferably in an endoscopy or outpatient setting.
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
• Basic understanding of endoscopy procedures and patient care needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient-focused approach.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficiency in maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation.
