Description
As a Locum Band 5/6 Children's Speech & Language Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality speech and language therapy assessments and interventions for children with a variety of communication needs. Your expertise will help improve the lives of children and their families by addressing speech, language, and communication disorders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments for children with a range of communication difficulties.
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans to meet the specific needs of each child.
- Provide direct therapy, monitor progress, and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions.
- Educate families and caregivers on strategies to support communication development at home.
- Stay informed about the latest developments and best practices in speech and language therapy.
Requirements:
- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy and HCPC registration.
- Experience working with children as a speech and language therapist, preferably at Band 5 or 6 level.
- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
