Description
As a Locum Paediatric Occupational Therapist, you will be an integral part of our paediatric therapy team, specializing in helping children and adolescents develop essential skills for daily living and participation. Your role will involve conducting assessments, designing individualized treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic interventions to support physical, cognitive, and psychosocial development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of paediatric patients' sensory, motor, and developmental needs.
- Collaborating closely with families and caregivers to understand goals and preferences for therapy outcomes.
- Implementing evidence-based occupational therapy interventions, including sensory integration therapy, fine motor activities, and adaptive equipment provision.
- Monitoring progress and adjusting treatment plans based on ongoing evaluations and feedback.
- Providing education and support to families on home exercises and strategies for enhancing therapeutic outcomes.
Requirements:
- Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or equivalent.
- Band 5: New graduates welcome, with a passion for paediatric occupational therapy.
- Band 6: Demonstrated experience in paediatric occupational therapy preferred.
- Knowledge of paediatric conditions, developmental milestones, and family-centered care principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to working with children and families.
