As a Locum Band 6 Orthopaedic Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality occupational therapy assessments and interventions to patients with orthopaedic conditions. Your expertise will contribute to the rehabilitation and improved quality of life for patients undergoing orthopaedic treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for patients with orthopaedic conditions, including fractures, joint replacements, and soft tissue injuries.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to enhance patients' independence and facilitate recovery.
- Provide therapeutic interventions, including splinting, exercise programs, and adaptive techniques.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions.
- Educate patients and their families about therapeutic techniques, self-management strategies, and post-operative care.
- Stay informed about the latest developments and best practices in orthopaedic occupational therapy.
Requirements:
- Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration.
- Experience working as an occupational therapist, preferably with orthopaedic patients at Band 6 level.
- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and education.
