Description
As a Locum Band 7 Highly Specialist Cardiac Physiologist, you will provide advanced diagnostic and therapeutic services, specializing in complex cardiac investigations such as echocardiography, electrophysiology, and device management. You will work closely with the cardiology team to ensure high-quality care for patients with a wide range of cardiac conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced cardiac diagnostics, including echocardiography, pacemaker and ICD checks, stress testing, and electrophysiological studies.
- Provide expert interpretation of diagnostic tests and contribute to clinical decision-making and patient management.
- Work collaboratively with cardiologists, cardiac nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in complex cardiac procedures, including device implantation and ablation, providing expert support and monitoring throughout.
- Ensure compliance with national and local guidelines, maintaining the highest standards of patient care and safety.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of protocols, guidelines, and quality improvement initiatives within the cardiology service.
- Provide clinical supervision, training, and support to junior physiologists, students, and other team members.
Qualifications and Experience:
- BSc in Clinical Physiology or equivalent and current registration with the Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists (RCCP) or equivalent body.
- Significant experience as a Cardiac Physiologist at Band 7 level, with a focus on advanced diagnostics and therapeutic procedures.
- Proven expertise in echocardiography, electrophysiology, and device management.
- Strong clinical reasoning, problem-solving, and technical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of advancements in cardiac physiology.
