Description

We are seeking a Locum Band 7 MSK Sonographer. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced sonographer specializing in musculoskeletal (MSK) ultrasound to work in a dynamic and patient-centered environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform high-quality musculoskeletal ultrasound scans, including the assessment of soft tissues, joints, tendons, and ligaments
  • Provide expert interpretation of imaging results and compile detailed reports for referring clinicians
  • Work collaboratively with consultants and multidisciplinary teams to ensure accurate diagnoses and treatment planning
  • Prioritize and manage a caseload efficiently, ensuring timely patient care
  • Maintain up-to-date clinical records, ensuring all patient interactions and scan results are accurately documented
  • Adhere to departmental protocols and ensure imaging procedures are performed in line with best practices and safety standards
  • Offer guidance, support, and mentorship to junior sonographers and radiographic staff as needed
  • Report any equipment faults or concerns and work with the management team to ensure all equipment is maintained and fully operational
  • Participate in service development, contributing ideas for improving patient care and workflow efficiency
  • Uphold the highest standards of patient care, ensuring a compassionate and professional approach at all times

Requirements:

  • HCPC registration and degree or diploma in diagnostic radiography or equivalent
  • Postgraduate qualification or extensive experience in musculoskeletal (MSK) ultrasound
  • Proven experience working as a Band 7 Sonographer, with a strong background in MSK imaging
  • Excellent clinical skills in image acquisition, interpretation, and reporting
  • Ability to work both independently and within a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient-centered care
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of practice
