Description
As the Head of Quality and Governance you will provide leadership and clinical support to the homes coordinating the care and support of residents including quality improvement, regulatory compliance, quality monitoring of resident care services and medication training as well as implementation and development of the My Life Strategy and Care Services Policy implementation. As a Registered Nurse with a valid NMC Pin you will need to be able to respond during off-duty hours as a nurse consultant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Training: Coach Clinical Services Managers and Dementia Care Managers. Conduct care related training as required and monitor the competency of staff who administer medication. Ensure there is a robust programme of Clinical Training across the homes and monitor compliance.
- Quality Care: Visit each home once every six weeks to evaluate processes and complete compliance audits.
- Regulatory Compliance: Provide group expertise regarding local and national regulations, ensuring homes remain compliant at all times with regulatory standards.
- Financial Management: Provide recommendations to the home leadership and senior team to enhance length of stay, increase care levels and effectively manage nurse labour levels.
- Recruitment: Support the homes to determine appropriate staffing levels within the care departments. Interviews all Clinical Services Managers in collaboration with the Operations Teams. Develops and maintains relationships with professional organisations and schools of nursing.
What we’re looking for
A full driving licence is essential as it is a requirement to travel across our home portfolio as part of this role.
Desired Qualifications and Skills:
- Registered Nurse with a valid NMC PIN.
- Extensive Clinical/Medical knowledge
- Excellent understanding of the Regulatory Standards
- Previous long term care auditing experience
- Strong planning, communication and oganisational skills
- Passion for service to the elderly and dementia (a Dementia qualification would be desirable)
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
