Description
We are seeking an experienced Locum Band 7 Speech and Language Therapy CCA Lead.
Responsibilities:-
- To support the continuation of accurate and contemporaneous Speech and Language Therapy records are maintained for patients referred to the service, in line with professional standards set locally and as defined by the RCSLT and HCPC.
- To ensure that communication regarding complex condition-related information in written and verbal forms on individual cases to patients, carers and multi-disciplinary team members, in a timely and effective manner.
- To support attendance of professional, team and departmental meetings in order to receive, impart and share information relevant to maintaining consistent professional standards, ensuring own contribution to positive service development and commenting on proposals.
- To provide specialist knowledge and mentor those providing information on voice, language, speech, AAC, swallowing and other related difficulties/disorders to the multidisciplinary team, relatives, carers and partner agencies.
- To attend and support attendance of the team members Clinical Expert Networks, Courses and Journals to the rest of the Speech and Language Therapy team and to other professional colleagues, as appropriate. To support the dissemination of information from all team members to the SaLT team.
- To liaise closely with all members of the multi-disciplinary team, other professional staff, and speech and language therapy colleagues and attend weekly multi-disciplinary meetings, case conferences and ward rounds as appropriate in order to contribute professional expertise and ensure maximum input into the holistic care of each patient within own caseload.
- To represent a leader in speech and language therapist for the acute care provision of patient with cardio-thoracic conditions within and between Trusts.
- To model positive communication methods and mentor the team in achieving these communication methods.
