Description
We are looking for a dynamic and dedicated Clinical Lead in Hand Therapy with a passion for service development and clinical leadership.
What are my responsibilities in this Specialist Hand Therapist role
- To work as an autonomous practitioner, within scope of practice and deliver a quality clinical service; meeting the clinical and strategic needs of the hospital.
- To perform an advanced musculo-skeletal assessment of orthopaedic and plastic surgery hand patients including those with highly complex presentations and from this formulate a diagnosis and treatment plan, which is carried out as an autonomous practitioner.
- To interpret and analyse clinical and non-clinical facts to form accurate diagnoses in a wide range of highly complex musculo-skeletal, plastic and orthopaedic surgery conditions.
- To be highly competent in assessing a wide range of hand and plastic surgery conditions based on advanced theoretical knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology, often in situations where conflicting evidence is present
- To support the development of the Hand Therapy service, striving to ensure best practice, maximum efficiency and productivity and cost effectiveness.
- To supervise, initiate and participate in evidence based projects and lead in-service training sessions as required.
- To supervise, initiate and participate in audit and service reviews and evaluations as appropriate.
- To supervise, teach and appraise members of the Hand Therapy team as required.
