An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and committed Deputy Theatre Manager to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the highest standard of patient care, and be a valued member in contributing to the effective running of the unit. They will ensure the theatre team delivers effective patient care by providing appropriate clinical and managerial leadership, maximising effective theatre utilisation. The post holder will deputise for the Theatre Manager in their absence to ensure a high level of management of the theatre team at all times thereby ensuring the department provides the expected high level of service. You’ll be a role model for the nursing staff throughout the department and lead by example to get the best out of the team promoting a positive environment. You will need to demonstrate Leadership skills and be a qualified Surgical First Assistant. You will need to have excellent communication ,organisational skills and ability to manage a large team including Consultants. This is an excellent and rewarding opportunity for an experienced Deputy Manager or Theatre Lead who wants to work with a team of highly qualified staff in a challenging and growing department. - To ensure a safe, efficient and effective perioperative service is provided to patients and Consultant users.
- To provide leadership and direction to the operating theatre team.
- The role includes clinical practice, human resource management, including staffing and performance management, and financial management.
- Act as first assistant to the surgeon when required.
