We are having an excellent opportunity for a Clinical Matron.
Key Responsibilities
- To assist the Home Manager to ensure the home operates at all times will full regulatory compliance in respect of the CQC domains; is it safe, caring, effective, responsive and well lead
- To support, mentor, supervise and appraise the Registered Nurses and Team Leaders to enable them to effectively carryout their roles and responsibilities in keeping the Home compliant with regulatory compliance matters, and for the Registered Nurses to support them with their Revalidation requirements.
- To provide support with recruitment and induction of new staff ensuring the provision of quality, effective and efficient care to all patient groups and to act as a clinical lead for other nursing staff and train and mentor junior colleagues.
- You will need to be able to work with a wide range of staff, both within the home and communicate at a higher level, negotiate, prioritise and deliver complex areas of work and maintain a focus on resident, staff and service needs
- To work closely with health and social care professionals.
- To ensure effective deployment of staffing resources to ensure appropriate skill mix and numbers of staff are on duty at all times to meet the Resident’s needs. Manage annual leave, staff absenteeism, (conducting effective back to work interviews), performance reviews, and annual leave requests
- To take part in recruitment processes as directed by the Home Manager.
- To take on specific professional responsibility as ‘link’ person, (for example, infection control, fire, health and safety, DoLS/MCA, tissue viability, PEG management, and manual handling). Specific roles in respect of professional responsibility will be agreed with the post holder and the Home Manager
- Undertake Mandatory Training and Role Specific Training and Induction as directed, and within the scope of professional responsibility
- Ensure effective communication exists across all departments within the Home to ensure the continued smooth operations
- Establish effective communication with Residents, their relatives and significant others to ensure they can voice and raise concerns openly and positively, and to arrange family meetings that are formally documented at least annually
- To develop key relationships with external stakeholders to uphold the good reputation of the Home
- To undertake prospective Residents assessments, conduct ‘show-rounds’ for prospective Residents and their families/ significant others as directed by the Home Manager. Write reports following such assessments to be used for establishing suitability for admission and for funding requirements
- To ensure a comprehensive report is written for external agencies on request for the purposes of care reviews, CCG funding requirements as directed by the Home Manager
- To ensure the Home operates within the Company agreed Standard Operating Framework/ Procedures
- To ensure effective use of the Home’s resources; equipment, supplies etc To attend staff meetings (including out of hours) and participate in the on-call rota and weekend working
